A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I headed down into the Rift Valley to visit the ancient site of Olorgesailie. Turning off the bumpy Magadi road onto the white dust track that leads to the site was a lovely relief and as the dust flew up around us I was reminded of my childhood family trip to the wonderful place. We spent the afternoon wandering around the site, looking at the bones and ancient tools first discovered in 1942. A lovely little cat accompanied us for dinner! Beautiful Birds surrounded the banda We drove up the nearby mountain, getting a wicked view of the valley cast in evening shadows. As night fell, the sky lit up with streaks of clouds. At night the heavens opened up revealing millions of starts illuminating the night sky. This trip reminded me of how much natural beauty surrounds us here in Kenya and how much I love exploring it.
I am so in love with my Hero 3. It's such a convenient size and I love these super wide angle shots that I can get with it. Pop it in my pocket and off I go! LOOK UPMUSEUM OF LONDONST PAUL'S CATHEDRALEARL'S COURT STATIONTo make the most of my time in London I spent nearly every night out and about taking photo's, nearly missing the last tube on a few occasions! I absolutely loved it and can't wait to do it again. LONDON LIGHTSTHE LONDON EYETHE LAST TRAIN HOMEAs I previously mentioned, a few weeks ago I collaborated with up-and-coming blogger Petronella Risita. The first thing I noticed about Petronella was her enthusiasm, her smile radiated through the room. As we began to shot I was delighted with the ease she had in front of the lens, moving smoothly and naturally from shot to shot. Below are some of my favourites shots. For more, head to Petronella's Blog www.petronellarisita.com My dream is to be successful in the Film and Fashion Industry, I have such a deep love for them both and I'm excited for my journey in getting to where I want to be in both of these Industries. My spirit animal would definitely be a lion. They're fierce, beautiful and pretty freaking awesome. I'd say that colour inspires me, especially when it comes to fashion because not only does it express my personal style but it also conveys my personality and what colour palettes suit me on different occasions. Something I want people to know about me...Well I have a serious phobia of public toilets haha! Stranded on a desert Island with 3 essentials. It was so amazing to work with Poppy, you're so talented and I am so excited to work with you again. Day 2 in London - Part 1 I walked along the river from Battersea to Westminster, enjoying the wonderful buildings and scenery and of course taking lots of photo's! Below are some of my favourites. Enjoy. CHELSEA BRIDGETATE BRITAINTHE PALACE OF WESTMINSTERBIG BENI ran around London like a tourist last week, taking photo's of some of my favourite spots.
Here are some from my first evening in the City, taken from Putney Bridge. Enjoy x On arrival in London I decided to head out and take some night shots of this wonderful City. Working out that the sun set at 9.10pm, I headed out around 8.30pm thinking that would give me a enough time to get to the river. Of course I forgot that in this country the sun takes a while do go down and doesn't instantly cast the landscape in total blackness (as it does in Kenya)! I ended up waiting on a park bench for a good 2 hours for these shots as it was so light for so long. Anyway I was really happy with the results and have been out and about London since, capturing as much as I can with the little time that I have here. Much more to come, stay tuned. Last week I photographed a brilliant community outreach programme event by Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. More than 700 blankets were donated to the orphanage! 9 members of Etihad Airways iVolunteer group were present to help had over the gifts The children were delighted with their gifts I feel blessed to have witnessed such an uplifting and inspiring event and look forward to spreading more messages like this.
Last week I headed down to Naivasha for a couple of days to capture a small part of this beautiful Country. The bush's were budding with beautiful birds. Fishermans Camp lit up at night with a welcoming glow. Lake Naivasha I woke up at 6am to the chattering of the Egyptian Geese! I wandered down to the lake to watch the sun rise and capture the fresh new day And then the sun rose... On the way home we took a quick detour to Lake Elmentaita in search of Flamingos. Although we didn't find the birds the lake was stunning and the weather fantastic. I'll be heading back down to Naivasha next week for a surprise project, stay tuned!
Had a little fun with my GoPro during last weeks Babyshoot! I always forget how tiny we are at the start of our journey. I absolutely loved photographing baby Otto. Below are a few of my favourites from the session. The littlest feet make the biggest footprints on our hearts A baby has a special way of adding joy to every day I've taken a lot of video footage on my GoPro but haven't posted any of it! I recently downloaded GoPro Studio and have been playing around with some of the videos that I took along the lovely Country lanes in Herefordshire. Here's my first experiment, enjoy! I'd love to know about other video editing software, write a comment and let me know.
